St. Matthews Royal College of Nursing sciences was conceived in the mind of Bishop Matthew Akhaze Okpebholo , out of a deep understanding of the evolving healthcare landscape and the pressing need for highly skilled professionals in Nursing sciences driven by his vision to address the pressing need for highly skilled professionals in Nursing and health Sciences. The foundation was laid with the understanding that the quality of healthcare delivery is deeply rooted in the competence and compassion of its professional. Bishop M. A. Okpebholo the founder appointed his daughter an Educationist, Barr. Mrs Onomen Goodness Briggs as the proprietor and President of the College. The College was established in the year 2023 with a vision to be a Center that is globally recognizes for excellence in nursing education, with a high moral standard, committed to preparing competent and compassionate Nurses through the integration of scientific principles, therapeutic and educational processes in response to dynamic healthcare challenges in our communities and the world at large.
The passion in their mind is to provide admission to young individuals, who will also help to reduce the high of maternal and child morbidity and mortality in line with the WHO goals. For our curriculum, our primary aim is to offer a curriculum that is rigorous, dynamic, and in line with international standards, while fostering a compassionate approach to patient care. We sought to create a nurturing environment where students could develop both professionally and personally, guided by faculty of experienced and dedicated educators. With this vision and passion, the founder and president of Schools went ahead and built a massive edifice, structure and infrastructure to accommodate the school of Nursing and then applied to the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria for accreditation. We will continue to evolve, adapting to the needs of the healthcare sector and embracing new growth opportunities.
Above all, our mission remains unchanged; to prepare students to become holistic health providers and strong leaders with integrity, innovation, and compassion to meet the health care needs of the individuals, families as well as local and international communities. With a high level of professional knowledge and competence. It is our sincere hope that every student who passes these doors leaves with a profound understanding of the significance of their work and lifelong commitment to improving the lives of others.
